It’s an emulator (modified Final Burn Alpha) and special net-code (modified GGPO) to make online players simulate the 2nd local player, bundled together with the Fightcade front end that finds people to play against. I believe the newer version of FBA supports super Nintendo roms but I haven’t done my research to find out what else. The version they use is old and the developer of FightCade explained that it would take time to implement the newer version.
